Man charged in robbery spree

A man is facing 28 charges in connection with a string of gas station and convenience store robberies in Peel and Toronto. Toronto Police say the spree spanned nearly five months, beginning March 23 and ending on Sunday.

In each incident, police say, a man entered the business with a note indicating he had a weapon and made a demand for money. Several of the robberies were captured on security cameras, police say. Karthik Poologanathan, 26, was arrested this morning . He’s charged with 14 counts of robbery and 14 counts of fail to comply with probation.
